Soul(full) handmade products

That (yes, maybe you’d say cheesy) but still beautiful and sweet idea is from Sugarboo Designs, a project created by a married couple – Rebecca Puig and her  husband Rick- with the mission (as they describe themselves) to make Handmade Products that add soul to the home. Check more about them here!

Sofia Coppola on being a “dilettante” and enhancing creativity

I was just thinking about this issue a month ago when I decided to create this blog. In the following article,  Douglas Eby uses a Sofia Coppola quote on frivolity to discuss the scanner personality and different interests in order to enhance creativity.

Creative and funny Thanksgiving with MellyMo

That’s pretty cool,  uh? It’s a design from Melly Mo, a paper doll and collage artist who loves to make fun things that will bring a smile to your day! Check out all the magnetic paper dolls and fun characters in her store  at http://www.etsy.com/shop/MellyMo - they make great and affordable gifts. Chic magnets

I just found this magnets on-line and almost felt in love with them.
The glass and the decoupaged designs of the silhouettes create a new concept where magnets are something beautiful and chic, not only to be hung on the refrigerator but also as a paper weight to hold name cards on place-settings or in your office. You’ll find them here.

Delicious apron for better cooking

It’s practically impossible to be an uninspired cook  while wearing this beautiful multicolored bird print apron.  If you are just in love with it, you can buy it here.

… and the bad old days

Yes, indeed, that's pretty sexist.

Because not all the old times were better. They had, of course, a  sense of style, glamorous Hollywood actresses and actors  and chic costumes, but advertising like this portraits a society with a long  long way ahead of them.

The good old days…

Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall

They met while filming To Have and Have Not, and got married in 1945. It was the 4th wedding for Bogart, with a women 25 years younger than him. Nobody thought it would last, but it did. A lovely classy pair in a lovely photo, published in Architectural Digest in September 2010.

Welcome to Lily’s Wonderland

Hey you!

Welcome to my humbly beautiful place. I know  it looks  kind of empty and deserted right now, but empty is good sometimes, it means you can fill the space however you want.  So you fall into the rabbit hole without knowing where you are going to land, but while you keep falling you begin to grasp and idea, an intuition, something that inspire you and makes you imagine a new world. That’s wonderland. A place where beautiful, nutritious, interesting, delicious and mysterious things happen. No need to rush though. Beautiful things take their own time to grow, and so I won’t think too hard about how to fill the blank page, about what to write in order to be cool or about what would be the most ingenious thing to tell you. I’ll just keep falling and watching what surrounds me, and if I see something beautiful, or interesting, or mysterious ( and I truly believe I will), I ‘ll tell you about it here, in Lily’s Wonderland.

Until then, keep your eyes open, and have a nice day!

Sincerely,

Lily.
